The Nigeria Police Force has recorded a series of operational successes across 11 states, including the arrest of suspected kidnappers and armed robbers, rescue of abducted victims and recovery of firearms and other criminal exhibits.
The operations, conducted between September 12 and 15, 2026, also resulted in the recovery of ammunition, illicit drugs, vehicles, motorcycles, ransom money and other items linked to criminal activities.
The Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Ani Iniedu, disclosed the development in a statement on Tuesday, saying police operatives, working alongside other security agencies, had intensified efforts to tackle criminal activities nationwide.
In Kebbi State, a joint police and military operation in Gumki Village, Arewa Local Government Area, reportedly neutralised a suspected terrorist. Operatives recovered a PKT rifle with 174 rounds of ammunition, an AK-47 rifle with 14 rounds, four motorcycles, mobile phones and other items.
Two women abducted from Sha’Iskawa Fulani Village in Kankia LGA of Katsina State were also rescued unharmed after security operatives engaged their suspected abductors in a gun battle.
The police said the assailants were overpowered and fled into the bush, while the victims were safely recovered.
In Ogun State, three suspected members of an armed robbery gang linked to attacks in Agbado and surrounding communities were arrested, with three expanded cartridges recovered.
Six suspected armed robbery gang members were also arrested in Akwa Ibom following investigations into criminal activities across Ikono, Ini and Obot Akara LGAs. Police recovered two single-barrel guns, a motorcycle, three laptops and other exhibits.
In Sokoto State, a suspected bandit informant was arrested in Wamakko LGA. Police said ₦900,000 allegedly collected as a levy from a community was recovered from him, while he was assisting investigators with information about other gang members.
Seven suspects were arrested during a raid on a suspected criminal hideout in Ukwuani LGA of Delta State. Items recovered included a locally fabricated firearm, ammunition, illicit drugs, a battle axe, mobile phones and a laptop.
In Ekiti State, police arrested a suspected kidnapper and fraudster during a night operation along the Ekiti State University/Osekita Road. A Toyota Venza reportedly worth ₦10.5m, 255 SIM cards, four phones, an international passport, tramadol and other exhibits were recovered.
A fleeing suspect was also arrested at his hideout in Bonny, Rivers State, while police recovered an English-made Beretta pistol allegedly abandoned by him.
In Kaduna State, a kidnapped victim was rescued around Arabu Forest in Makarfi LGA and reunited with family members after receiving medical attention.
Joint security operatives in Kogi State arrested a suspected kidnapper following an armed attack on a vehicle along the Okene/Ogori-Magongo-Lagos Highway. Police said the suspect was apprehended during a follow-up operation in a nearby forest area.
In Jigawa State, police arrested a suspect over the alleged rape of an eight-year-old girl in Ringim LGA. The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Dutse for further investigation.
Meanwhile, 10 suspects were arrested during separate raids on suspected criminal hideouts in Aniocha North and Oshimili North LGAs of Delta State. Two locally made firearms, illicit drugs, cannabis-related items and other exhibits were reportedly recovered.
The police said investigations into the various cases were ongoing at the respective State Criminal Investigation Departments, while efforts continued to arrest other suspects linked to the offences.
