Veteran Yoruba actor Peter Fatomilola has revealed that he was not aware that his colleague, Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, was dealing with health challenges before the actor’s family made the situation public.
Fatomilola disclosed this in an upcoming interview with African A-List, also known as AfricanaList, a clip of which was shared on Saturday.
Ogogo’s daughter had previously appealed publicly for support towards her father’s treatment before his death.
Speaking about the development, Fatomilola described Ogogo as someone he regarded almost like a son and said he would have sought advice from people with greater knowledge if he had known about the actor’s condition.
The veteran actor said he deliberately chose not to discuss the matter extensively in public, stressing that people should seek appropriate guidance whenever they learn that someone is facing serious challenges.
Fatomilola also reflected on his personal life, revealing that he had been constructing a house with his late senior wife, Adawole, before her death.
According to him, the building had reached the lintel stage when his wife passed away, leaving the project among the things he had hoped to complete.
Ogogo died on August 23 and was later buried in Ogun State. His death followed reports of health challenges and a public appeal by his daughter for assistance with his treatment.
