Nigerian comedian and actor Julius Agwu has revealed that he experienced sexual dysfunction following brain surgery he underwent in the United States in 2015.
Drivetvnews gathered that Agwu made the disclosure during a recent episode of the Beer Parlour Talk Show, where he discussed the impact of his health battle and surgery on his body, career and personal life.
During the programme, the host asked whether the brain condition or the surgery had affected other aspects of his body, including his sexual function.
Agwu confirmed that he experienced the problem after the procedure, saying his sexual function was affected following the surgery.
Other participants on the programme discussed how nerves connected to the brain could be affected during medical procedures, in an apparent attempt to explain the issue he described.
Agwu underwent the surgery in 2015 after doctors reportedly discovered three tumours in his brain, with one said to be about the size of a golf ball.
The comedian has previously spoken about his health challenges and the effect they had on his personal life and career.
During the latest discussion, Agwu also reflected on his contribution to Nigerian comedy, particularly his role in developing music comedy.
He became emotional while discussing his career and what he described as feelings of betrayal and abandonment, alleging that some of his friends stopped communicating with him during his difficult period.
Despite the challenges, Agwu remains a notable figure in Nigeria’s comedy industry, recognised for combining music with comedy and for his work in Nollywood.
