Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has expressed his condolences to the Balogun of Ibadanland, Oba Tajudeen Ajibola, following the death of his wife, Olori Basirat Ajibola.
Drivetvnews gathered that the governor described her passing as a significant loss to Ibadanland and Oyo State, extending his sympathies to the monarch, the Ajibola family and the entire Ibadan traditional institution.
In a statement released on Saturday by his Special Adviser on Media, Dr Sulaimon Olanrewaju, Makinde noted that the late Olori, who held the title of Aare Onibon Iyalode of Ibadanland, contributed to her community through her support for the monarch and dedication to the welfare of the people.
The governor said the state government and its residents shared in the family’s grief, praying for strength and comfort for the monarch and other relatives during the difficult period.
Makinde also prayed for the peaceful repose of the deceased, expressing confidence that her humility and commitment to service would remain in the memories of those who knew her.
He further reaffirmed the Oyo State Government’s support for the traditional institution and the people of Ibadanland as they mourn the loss.
