Chibuike Ikenga, spokesperson for the Rainbow Coalition in Rivers State, has alleged that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) is unsettled by the reconciliation between Governor Siminalayi Fubara and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.
Ikenga made the claim on Thursday during an interview on Arise Television, following a four-hour meeting between Wike, his supporters and Governor Fubara in Port Harcourt.
He argued that the ADC was concerned about the reconciliation because, according to him, the Rainbow Coalition had stronger political support in the state.
“The ADC is troubled because they do not have the numbers we have. The tantrums from yesterday were triggered by the leader of the Rainbow Coalition, Wike,” Ikenga said.
He added that Wike had continued to strengthen his political team in Rivers State and had met with Fubara and his associates, with the APC governorship candidate also reportedly present.
According to Ikenga, the meeting had unsettled the ADC because the party allegedly did not want Wike and Fubara to reconcile.
He also accused the ADC of using the expression “state capture” to criticise the political development, while alleging that the party’s own leader in Rivers State, former Minister of Transportation Rotimi Amaechi, had initiated such an agenda.
Ikenga’s comments reflect the growing political exchanges among parties and political blocs in Rivers State ahead of the 2027 elections. His claims about the ADC’s motives and political strength were not independently established in the report.
