In Offa town, Kwara State, the Kwara State Fire Service made a grim discovery on Thursday, as they recovered the lifeless body of a 49-year-old man and successfully rescued a 17-year-old boy from a domestic well, according to Drivetvnews.The man, identified as Fasasi Afeez, and his son Kaleed Afeez of Gaa Jangbo, Igbonna Road Offa, had fallen into the well located in their residence. Sadly, Fasasi Afeez did not survive the fall, while his son was brought out alive.Hassan Adekunle, spokesperson for the state fire service, revealed that the incident occurred around 04:11 pm after a distress call was placed by Alhaji Taiye Gbadamosi, a resident in the area.According to reports, the boy had gone to fetch water from the well when one of his legs slipped, causing him to fall in. In an attempt to rescue his son, Fasasi Afeez also fell into the well before help could arrive.Expressing sadness over the tragedy, Director of the Kwara State Fire Service, Prince Falade John Olumuyiwa, urged the public to exercise caution in their daily activities and refrain from sending underage children to fetch water from domestic wells.
