Omolara Adeboye, widow of late Nigerian comedian Gbenga Adeboye, has opened up about the challenges she faced after her husband’s death, alleging that a relative took documents belonging to the house he built.
Drivetvnews gathered that Omolara made the revelations during an appearance on the Kasnaty show, where she spoke about coping with the loss and what she described as a lack of support from her late husband’s relatives.
She alleged that a man connected to her husband’s family repeatedly visited their home after the comedian’s death, intending to remove his belongings.
According to her, the man eventually took documents relating to the house Gbenga built. When she confronted him, he reportedly claimed the documents had been handed over to the family head.
Omolara also dismissed claims that she had remarried after her husband’s death, insisting that she had remained unmarried despite rumours about her personal life.
Her son, Elijah Adeboye, also spoke during the programme, describing the emotional and psychological toll his father’s death had on the family.
Elijah recalled how grief sometimes overwhelmed his mother to the extent that she forgot to pick him and his siblings up from school after closing time.
He also addressed rumours that Omolara had remarried and relocated to the United States, explaining that she was still mourning her husband when such claims circulated.
The interview has attracted reactions from social media users, many of whom praised Omolara and expressed sympathy over the difficulties she described.
Gbenga Adeboye, popularly known as a comedian and entertainer, remains remembered for his contributions to Nigeria’s entertainment industry.
