Nigerian content creator Cute Abiola has expressed concern over alleged police brutality in Kwara State, accusing some officers of harassing and assaulting residents.
In a video shared on his Instagram page, the comedian said he had personally witnessed incidents of police harassment in the state and called for an end to the alleged misconduct.
He disclosed that he had raised the issue on several occasions and held discussions with both former and serving commissioners of police in Kwara.
According to him, although police authorities had assured him that the incidents had stopped, complaints from young people and videos circulating on social media suggested that the alleged abuses were continuing.
Cute Abiola said the current Commissioner of Police had described some of the circulating videos as old footage and explained that the officers involved belonged to a tactical team.
However, the content creator maintained that he had personally witnessed some of the incidents, claiming that the officers often operated in plain clothes.
He urged residents to report cases of harassment and shared contact details for the Commissioner of Police, the Police Public Relations Officer and his personal assistant to assist affected individuals.
“They have no right to collect your phone,” he said, urging residents to speak up when confronted with alleged police misconduct.
Cute Abiola stressed that Kwara State should remain peaceful and harmonious, insisting that allegations of police brutality must be addressed.
