Mohammed Abo’ore, a driver for Guaranty Trust Bank (GTBank), was tragically killed by suspected criminals in the Fadikpe area of Chanchaga Local Government Area in Niger State.

The incident occurred around 10:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 20, 2025, while Abo’ore was on his way home. According to reports, he was attacked and fatally stabbed during a confrontation with one of the assailants.

The Niger State Police Command confirmed the incident on Monday. Police spokesperson Wasiu Abiodun explained that the authorities received a report at approximately 10:45 p.m. from a vigilante leader in Fadikpe. The leader had alerted the police about some individuals seen smoking cannabis in the nearby Rafi area.

In response, the local vigilante group mobilized to apprehend the suspects while waiting for law enforcement to arrive. Abo’ore, a resident of the community, volunteered to assist the vigilantes in their efforts.

Unfortunately, during the operation, Abo’ore was stabbed with scissors by one of the suspects, identified as Nura Buhari, who fled the scene. Abo’ore was rushed to the General Hospital in Minna, where he later died from his injuries.

Abiodun also reported that one of the suspects, Abdullahi Rabiu, was arrested and is currently cooperating with the police. Authorities are still working to capture the other individuals involved.
