The Olubadan-In-Council has officially nominated former Oyo State Governor, Rashidi Ladoja, as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland.
The decision was reached on Monday during a council meeting held at the Olubadan Palace, located in the Oke-Aremo area of Ibadan North Local Government Area.
The session was led by the Balogun of Ibadanland, Oba Tajudeen Ajibola, who confirmed the council’s unanimous agreement on Ladoja’s nomination.
“All members of the Olubadan-In-Council have endorsed and signed the nomination of Oba Rashidi Ladoja as the next Olubadan,” Oba Ajibola announced. “We will forward the outcome of our meeting to Governor Seyi Makinde, who will then decide on a date for the official presentation of the staff of office.”
He noted that the burial of the late monarch, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, is scheduled for this week, which means the formal installation cannot take place immediately.
“Governor Makinde may choose to fix the date in one, two, or three weeks,” he added.
