The wife of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, Titi Abubakar, has said her husband is not seeking Nigerians’ wealth or power but wants to contribute to society if elected president in 2027.
Drivetvnews gathered that Titi made the statement in a video shared by TV Platinum on X while campaigning for Atiku at a rally.
She described the former Vice-President as an experienced politician and philanthropist who would not need to learn on the job if elected.
According to her, Atiku’s age and experience have strengthened his desire to serve rather than pursue personal gains.
She also said Atiku plans to mentor younger Nigerians in politics and governance, expressing confidence that citizens would eventually want him to serve a second term despite his earlier position that he would serve only one term.
Titi criticised the state of the Nigerian economy and governance, saying the country was facing serious challenges and that many citizens were struggling.
She added that Atiku would use his first term to prepare his deputy for leadership and eventual succession.
