Canada-based Nigerian cleric, Prophetess Ezinne Nwanorue, has drawn widespread criticism on social media after publicly celebrating the death of her mother-in-law, Comfort Nwanorue, whom she described as a “wicked witch.”
Drivetvnews gathered In a Facebook post shared on Monday alongside the deceased’s funeral poster, Ezinne accused her late mother-in-law of working against her destiny and declared that she deserved to “rest in pieces.” She further claimed she was speaking from her position as a prophetess and warned that others she described as witches and evil people would also face divine judgment unless they repented.
According to Ezinne, she believes God exposed those she alleged had attempted to destroy her future, adding that she is now in her “season of manifestation” and that no one can stop her.
Her comments quickly sparked mixed reactions online, with many social media users condemning the celebration of a family member’s death and describing the remarks as inappropriate.
The latest controversy comes months after Ezinne and her husband, Franklin Chimaobim Nwanorue, attracted public attention over a viral video in which she required him to swear an oath before relocating to Canada.
In the video, Franklin publicly declared that if he ever cheated on his wife after arriving in Canada, he should die, saying he would remain faithful to her and committed to their family.
Despite the oath, Ezinne later alleged on Facebook that her husband had been unfaithful and claimed he had slept with another woman after making the public declaration.
Her recent comments about her mother-in-law have once again brought the family’s ongoing dispute into the spotlight.
As of the time of filing the report, neither Franklin Nwanorue nor any other member of the family had publicly responded to Ezinne’s latest remarks.
