Nollywood actor Amokade Olatayo, popularly known as Ijebu, has appealed to his family, colleagues and members of the public to forgive him for any offence he may have committed.
Drivetvnews gathered that Ijebu made the emotional appeal on Monday while reflecting on life following the death of veteran actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, who died on Sunday at the age of 66.
In an emotional video shared on Instagram, the actor said his heart was heavy and appealed to his colleagues, including senior and younger actors, to forgive him.
He said he had been awake since 6 a.m. and felt compelled to make peace with everyone.
Ijebu said, “I would like to come out straight and say this to all my family, to everyone, also in the movie industry and outside the industry. If there’s anyone that I have offended in one way or the other, please forgive me.”
He also appealed to his bosses, workers and colleagues in the movie industry, describing himself as a sinner and asking everyone he may have offended to forgive him.
The actor explained that his decision was inspired by the need to make peace and ease the burden on his heart.
He also announced that he had forgiven everyone who had offended him.
“My heart is so heavy. I’m making this video to make peace with everyone in order to reduce the burden on my heart. And I’m also here to tell everyone who has offended me that I have forgiven you,” he said.
Reflecting on the uncertainty and brevity of life, Ijebu urged people to let go of conflicts and stop holding grudges against one another.
“We came to this world with nothing, and we will leave with nothing. We don’t have any reason to be fighting ourselves. Life is too short,” he said.
