A Nigerian man has sparked widespread reactions online after publicly declaring an oath of lifelong faithfulness to his wife before relocating to join her in Canada.

In a video that has gone viral on social media, the emotional husband vowed never to be unfaithful, saying he would rather die than betray his wife after reuniting with her abroad.

Addressing his wife affectionately, he acknowledged the sacrifices she had made over the past three years, during which she reportedly lived alone in Canada while caring for their children without his presence.

The man pleaded for forgiveness over past issues and promised to remain committed to their marriage. He also assured her that divorce was never an option, insisting that her happiness and the wellbeing of their children remained his top priorities.

Explaining why he made the pledge publicly, he revealed that his wife requested the video as proof of his commitment before supporting his relocation to Canada.

The clip has generated mixed reactions online. While some praised the husband’s willingness to reassure his wife and strengthen their relationship, others argued that genuine faithfulness should come from personal conviction rather than a public oath.

Many social media users questioned whether such public declarations truly guarantee trust, while others viewed the gesture as a sincere expression of love and accountability.
