The founder of Salvation Ministries, Pastor David Ibiyeomie, has warned internet fraudsters, popularly known as Yahoo boys, against bringing proceeds from their activities as offerings to his church.
Drivetvnews gathered that Ibiyeomie issued the warning during a church service while condemning internet fraud and questioning why some individuals continue the practice despite being active members of churches.
The pastor said some fraudsters operate openly while attending church services and appear comfortable using money obtained by allegedly defrauding others.
He described internet fraud as theft, arguing that taking another person’s money through fraudulent means does not become acceptable regardless of how the act is described.
Ibiyeomie specifically told Yahoo boys attending his church to take their offerings elsewhere, stressing that the church does not need money obtained through fraud.
He also recounted the case of a professor at Rivers State University who he said lost his savings after allegedly being defrauded and later died.
The pastor urged people to distance themselves from individuals involved in internet fraud and criticised those who continue to support or encourage the practice despite its alleged impact on victims.
