The Anambra State Police Command has arrested a 36-year-old woman, Anulika Onyeanusia, over an alleged case of child sexual abuse and exploitation in Onitsha.
Drivetvnews gathered that the suspect was arrested on September 10, 2026, following information about a disturbing video allegedly involving the abuse of a minor.
According to the police, operatives also rescued four children aged two, three, six and nine during the operation and recovered items relevant to the investigation.
The police spokesperson, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, said Onyeanusia remained in custody while investigators worked to establish the circumstances surrounding the alleged offence and determine whether other individuals were involved.
The suspect’s husband was also reportedly being questioned to establish whether he had any connection with the alleged incident.
The Commissioner of Police in Anambra State, CP Nnanna Oji, ordered a thorough investigation and directed that the rescued children be provided with appropriate care and protection.
The command said it would work with child-protection and other relevant agencies to ensure the children receive necessary support and counselling. It also assured that their identities and privacy would be protected.
Police commended local vigilantes, residents and others whose information reportedly assisted the investigation and led to the suspect’s arrest.
