Crystal Palace manager, Roy Hodgson, is eager for Nigerian-born England forward, Eberechi Eze, to extend his contract with the club soon. Eze, who joined Crystal Palace from Queens Park Rangers (QPR) in August 2020, initially signed a five-year contract with the Premier League club.

During his time with the Premier League side, the 25-year-old Eze has made 102 appearances in all competitions. His impressive performance caught the attention of Chelsea, who tried to sign him last summer. However, Palace managed to persuade him to extend his contract until 2025.

In the previous season, Eze emerged as Crystal Palace’s top scorer, netting 10 goals in 40 games across all competitions and providing four assists. His outstanding form led to an invitation to the England national team, where he made his debut as a substitute in a 4-0 victory over Malta on June 16, 2023.

Despite currently recovering from an injury and with his existing contract set to expire on June 30, 2025, the club is actively working on extending his deal. Coach Roy Hodgson confirmed the ongoing negotiations, expressing confidence that an announcement about Eze’s contract extension will be made soon.

“I believe the club are working very hard with Eberechi Eze,” Hodgson stated. “They are very confident it won’t be too long before they can announce him as well. These matters are taken care of by [chairman] Steve Parish and [sporting director] Dougie Freedman; they keep me informed. But certainly, they are optimistic it won’t take too long to get Eze to commit his future as well.”
