In a recent installment of the ‘Tea With Tay’ podcast, Simi, the acclaimed Nigerian singer, revealed that marrying an artist was never part of her original plans. The 35-year-old artist delved into the story of how she encountered her husband, Adekunle Gold.Simi admitted that initially, she had mistaken Gold for a fan trying to connect with her on Facebook. Unaware of his musical endeavors, she only knew him as a graphics designer. She shared, “When I first met my husband, I did not know he was singing. Because I already said I cannot marry a singer. He used to do this King of Photoshop. I have never heard him sing up till that time. I think he was even a fan.”Reflecting on their initial interaction, she mentioned that he had sent her a message on Facebook, to which she hadn’t responded. Despite this, Simi had a gut feeling that he might be the right person for her. The couple, Simi and Adekunle Gold, exchanged vows in 2019.
