The University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), has taken swift action by suspending Mr. Mfonobong David Udoudom, a lecturer in the General Studies division, following a video allegedly showing him harassing a female student. The incident, which reportedly occurred on Monday, involved the lecturer being caught in a compromising situation while purportedly attempting to exchange grades for sexual favors.

In an official statement released by Okwun Omeaku, the Acting Public Relations Officer of UNN, the university emphasized its zero-tolerance policy towards sexual misconduct. The statement announced the lecturer’s indefinite suspension, effective immediately, pending the outcome of a disciplinary panel tasked with investigating the matter.

The University of Nigeria reiterated its commitment to upholding a safe and respectful environment for both staff and students. Highlighting its Sexual Harassment Policy, UNN affirmed its dedication to preventing any form of abuse or exploitation within its community.

The university made it clear that if Mr. Mfonobong David Udoudom is found guilty by the disciplinary panel, appropriate disciplinary measures will be taken in accordance with the institution’s regulations. UNN emphasized that it stands firm in its resolve to protect its students and uphold ethical standards among its staff.
