A Senior Secondary School student from Akoko Anglican Grammar School, Arigidi, located in Akoko North West area of Ondo State, named Habib Salau, was fatally stabbed by a female student on Wednesday.
The female student, identified as Sandra, reportedly attacked Habib with a knife during a disagreement between the two. The incident occurred after school hours, according to an eyewitness.
Efforts to reach the school principal for comments on the tragic event were unsuccessful. However, a teacher described the situation as both unfortunate and distressing, noting that it has caused anxiety among the students, who have been seen discussing the incident in groups.
The State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Funmi Odunlami, confirmed the incident and mentioned that the case has been handed over to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for further investigation. Odunlami stated that the police inquiry will aim to clarify the details surrounding the student’s death.
