Ezekiel Elijah,a 22-year-old man has been arrested for defiling a,13-year-old girl with hearing defect at Aviara in the Isoko South local Government Area of Delta State.
Edafe Bright who happens to be the Delta state police command spokesperson confirmed the arrest in a video statement on Monday, showing the suspect being interrogated.
Edafe also explained that the suspect defiled a 13-year-old girl knowing fully that the girl is physically challenged. So he took this advantage to lure her into his room and defiled her.
“May God help us”, he said.
The police have reported that the 22-year-old suspect admitted to the crime during interrogation, claiming he was unaware that the girl was only 13 years old.
“I saw her on the street with another person. When I called out to them, neither responded at first, but after a few steps, one of them turned back and approached me. I invited her to my house, and she agreed to come with me,” the suspect stated.
According to Edafe, the police are preparing to file charges against the suspect.
