The Lagos State Government agency tasked with addressing child sexual abuse cases has confirmed receiving reports about an incident involving the abuse of a child, which has been widely discussed online.

This follows an announcement by a young celebrity who revealed that she had ended her marriage due to disturbing allegations against her husband. She accused him of sexually abusing a 13-year-old girl in their home.

Kudirat Gbemisola, popularly known as DJ Kulet, has disclosed that she is no longer in a relationship with Ohis Emmanuel. The couple had celebrated a grand wedding just eight months ago.

In a statement shared online, DJ Kulet stated:

“After uncovering substantial evidence, including rumors and pictures, and witnessing his refusal to change his behavior, I couldn’t stay silent any longer.”

“What he did last time was shocking, he had sex with a thirteen-year-old girl under our roof for six months.

“I initially forgave him,” Kudirat explained, “but after further investigation, I discovered that he had also engaged in sexual relationships with some of his family members in their twenties, as well as several of his friends, and had transmitted sexually transmitted infections to them.”

“It’s clear that you have a preference for abusing children,” Kudirat stated. “In the eight months we were married, I had to treat you for sexually transmitted infections on three separate occasions.”

Kudirat has issued a caution to women, advising them to steer clear of individuals similar to her ex-husband.

The Lagos State Government also addressed the matter publicly, confirming that they had reached out to Kudirat for comments regarding the incident.

A spokesperson explained, “This step was taken after a video surfaced online in which the man admitted to engaging in sexual activities with a child.”

The government further stated, “We have contacted DJ Kulet and are appealing to anyone with information on how to locate her to assist us. Protecting children is a collective duty, regardless of who they are or where they come from.”

Who is DJ Kulet?

Kudirat Gbemisola, popularly known as DJ Kulet, is a talented DJ celebrated for her exceptional work and sincere personality.

While it is not uncommon for women to venture into DJing, DJ Kulet stands out due to her unique style and dedication. She primarily focuses on Fuji music, delivering performances that resonate deeply with her audience.

In a 2020 interview with BBC Yoruba, Kudirat shared that she began her journey as a DJ in 2018. Prior to this, she often spent her money and time attending church events, finding joy and fulfillment in them.

“My father didn’t support me, my mother didn’t approve, and even my friends discouraged me. They all held me back,” she recounted.

Kudirat also spoke about the challenges she faced as a woman in a male-dominated industry. She explained that clients would often doubt her abilities and prefer hiring men, assuming they were more suited for the job.

Despite these obstacles, DJ Kulet has remained steadfast in her passion, proving her critics wrong and finding joy in her chosen career path. Her determination and talent have made her a source of inspiration for many.
