Primate Elijah Ayodele, leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has sparked discussion over rising tensions in the Middle East after making fresh comments about Iran’s political future.
In a sermon circulated on social media, the cleric said he would deliver a more detailed statement regarding developments in Iran. However, he cautioned that whoever succeeds the current Supreme Leader could take a more hardline position, particularly in relations with Israel and the United States.
According to him, the next leader in Tehran may refuse to cooperate with the United States and could adopt policies more aggressive than those of the present leadership.
Primate Ayodele also alleged that there are concealed plans by certain groups to carry out a sudden attack on Israel, with the possibility of extending hostilities to the United States. He did not provide evidence or specific details to support the claim.
His comments come at a time of heightened geopolitical strain in the Middle East. Iran has maintained longstanding tensions with Israel and the United States, especially since the 1979 Islamic Revolution. Disagreements over nuclear development, economic sanctions, and regional military influence have continued to shape relations among the three countries.
Observers note that any leadership change in Iran could significantly influence the region’s political and security dynamics, particularly if a more hardline figure assumes control.
As of the time of this report, there has been no official reaction from Iranian, Israeli, or United States authorities regarding the cleric’s remarks.
