A 21-year-old woman from Ipele in Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State has accused a traditional ruler in her community of abuse, alleging that he impregnated her, pressured her into terminating the pregnancy, and later subjected her to threats and intimidation.
Drivetvnews gathered that the woman, Ifemide Kehinde, said the relationship began after the monarch proposed making her his second wife, an offer she accepted. She claimed the situation later took a troubling turn when she became pregnant.
According to her, the monarch insisted that she end the pregnancy and allegedly threatened her safety if she refused. She said she eventually went through with the abortion under pressure.
Kehinde stated that she experienced prolonged bleeding and health complications afterward, which she had to manage largely on her own without support. She also claimed she continued to suffer recurring pain following the incident.
She further alleged that the monarch used intermediaries to send money for the procedure and later attempted to silence her through intimidation. According to her, she received threats warning her of harm if she spoke out.
The woman also claimed that her phone number was shared with others who allegedly harassed and insulted her. She said she has recordings and other evidence involving individuals she believes are connected to the situation.
In addition, she alleged that similar conduct involving other young women had occurred within the palace, citing statements she claimed to have obtained from others.
Kehinde said she has submitted formal complaints to relevant authorities, including the police and state officials, but believes progress has been slow due to the monarch’s influence.
She added that investigations may have begun, noting that police reportedly visited locations linked to the case as part of their inquiries.
When contacted for a response, the monarch did not provide any detailed comment and declined to address the allegations.
