The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested a suspect linked to the abduction of three siblings in Yola North Local Government Area of the state.
Police spokesperson, SP Suleiman Nguroje, disclosed that the suspect, identified as Adamu Yahaya from the Hosere area of Jambutu, was apprehended following an investigation into the kidnapping incident.
According to the police, the case was reported on June 16, 2026, by Samaila Musa, a resident of Hullere Gwalamba in Yola North. Musa informed authorities that three children from his family had been abducted on June 12 and taken to an unknown location.
The victims were identified as Adamu Samaila Sultan, 24, Bilal Abdurrahman, 8, and Yau Sani Baba Iyali, 10. The family later received contact from the kidnappers, who allegedly demanded a ransom for their release.
Following the report, the Commissioner of Police, Kabir Hassan, directed intelligence operatives to launch an immediate investigation using both technical and intelligence resources.
The operation led to the arrest of the suspect, who is currently assisting investigators with information that could help track down other members of the kidnapping network and facilitate the rescue of the victims.
The police command reaffirmed its commitment to combating kidnapping and other criminal activities across the state, while assuring residents that efforts are ongoing to apprehend all those involved in the crime.
