The presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, has accused President Bola Tinubu, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi of copying his ideas on fuel subsidy.
Sowore made the allegation in a post on X while reacting to the Federal Government’s reported introduction of a 30-day petrol discount through the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL).
He claimed that Atiku and Obi had adopted his position only partially, while alleging that Tinubu embraced the ideas after the other politicians had already taken them up.
“On fuel subsidy, the cheaters are all smiling after copying Sowore’s answers!” he wrote.
Sowore compared the politicians to students sitting for the same examination and copying identical answers despite arriving at different times.
“Same examination, same copied answers, different arrival times!” he added.
The AAC candidate, however, argued that adopting his ideas would not guarantee success, insisting that the three politicians would still fail even if they had access to reference materials during the examination.
“But here’s their problem, even if it were an OPEN-BOOK EXAM, they still wouldn’t pass!” he said.
Sowore’s comments come amid political discussions surrounding the Federal Government’s petrol pricing measures and differing positions among political figures on fuel subsidy and the cost of living.
