Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has ordered the immediate establishment of three holding camps for displaced residents of Ifon, Ilobu, and Erin Osun.

His spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, stated that the governor issued this directive after confirming that food and relief materials had been distributed to affected individuals through the palaces of the impacted towns.

“With the distribution of food and relief materials now underway, I have instructed the state emergency agency to begin setting up camps for displaced persons.

“Each town will have its own camp, which may be located in town halls or other suitable venues chosen by the communities. Security agencies will oversee the screening process before transporting displaced individuals to these camps.

“The emergency agency will continue providing food and other essential supplies while the situation stabilizes. Additionally, the agency has contacted the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) for further assistance,” the governor stated.

Governor Adeleke also praised security agencies for promptly carrying out his order to interrogate and prosecute those responsible for the communal conflict.

“Every perpetrator must face justice. There must be accountability, and I expect the suspects to be brought before the court as soon as possible,” he asserted.

Meanwhile, the 24-hour curfew remains in effect, with security measures further reinforced in the affected communities.
