Senator Adams Oshiomhole has clarified that Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, is backing President Bola Tinubu rather than the All Progressives Congress, APC.
Oshiomhole, who represents Edo North Senatorial District, made the clarification on Tuesday during an interview with TVC.
His comments followed recent disagreements between Wike and some APC governors, after the FCT Minister described certain governors in the ruling party as “politically lazy.”
The former Edo State governor noted that Wike is not a member of the APC but has consistently expressed his support for Tinubu.
Oshiomhole said both Wike and the APC governors were united in their support for Tinubu’s re-election, despite their disagreements on other political matters.
According to him, he had not heard either side indicate opposition to Tinubu’s bid to remain in office.
He stressed that Wike had repeatedly made it clear that he does not belong to the APC but supports the President.
Oshiomhole added that he was comfortable with the fact that both sides were working towards the same objective of supporting Tinubu.
