Miss Comfort Emmanson, the lady at the center of a clash with an Ibom Air crew member, has narrated her side of the story, describing the experience as traumatic and humiliating.
In a statement posted on her Instagram page, @soft_commy, she alleged that a flight attendant identified as Julian Edwards assaulted her during a Lagos-bound flight. According to her, the attendant yanked off her wig, tore her clothes, broke her phones, and cut her gold chain during the altercation.
How the Dispute Began
Emmanson explained that the problem started during pre-flight checks when she struggled to turn off one of her phones due to a faulty power button. With the assistance of a fellow passenger, she eventually switched it off. She claimed, however, that the flight attendant made an unfriendly remark before walking away, which she did not take seriously at the time.
On arrival in Lagos, Emmanson said she briefly used the restroom before attempting to leave the aircraft, but the attendant allegedly blocked her path. In response, she brought out her phone to record the encounter, which she claimed triggered the physical confrontation.
“She dragged me back inside, pulled out my wig, tore my clothes, cut off my gold chain, and smashed my phones,” Emmanson recounted. She also alleged that the attendant verbally abused her, calling her a prostitute, which left her devastated.
According to Emmanson, other crew members later surrounded her, dragged her roughly, and exposed her body while recording the scene. She said the footage eventually circulated online, worsening her emotional pain.
“The trauma is unbearable. My body is now on social media, and people have even turned it into stickers. I feel mocked everywhere I turn,” she said.
She expressed fears about the impact of the incident on her career in real estate, noting that her reputation and future prospects may be permanently damaged.
The young woman insisted that she never disobeyed safety rules or refused to switch off her phone as suggested in circulating reports.
“I’m not a troublemaker, and I hardly even use social media. I only reacted because of the pain, humiliation, and insults I received. This incident has broken me,” she said.
The matter has since drawn public attention, with many awaiting Ibom Air’s official reaction to her allegations.
