The Iru Ẹ̀kún Security Network, a security outfit associated with Yoruba nation agitator Chief Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, has alleged that Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq prevented the group from visiting the state amid rising insecurity.

Drivetvnews gathered that the allegation was made in a voice note obtained by SaharaReporters and released by the Osun State Administrator of the outfit, Bolarinwa Kazeem Ayobami.

According to Ayobami, the planned visit to Kwara State was intended to enable the group’s leadership meet members of the Iru Ẹ̀kún Security Network already operating in the state. However, the trip was cancelled after Governor AbdulRazaq reportedly objected to Sunday Igboho’s visit.

Ayobami said the decision to suspend the trip was taken to avoid exposing members of the security network in Kwara State to possible danger.

He explained that the directive came from the group’s General Commandant on the instruction of Sunday Igboho.

While addressing members, Ayobami conveyed greetings from the organisation’s leadership before announcing the cancellation of the visit.

He alleged that the Kwara governor opposed the visit, claiming the governor is Fulani, and said this informed the decision to postpone the engagement.

According to him, although members of the group were prepared to proceed with the visit, the leadership prioritised the safety of members already based in Kwara State.

Following the cancellation, the leadership converted the scheduled Kwara meeting into a command meeting for officers of the Iru Ẹ̀kún Security Network in Osun State.

Ayobami directed all commandants, their deputies, Iron Ladies and administrators across Osun State to attend the meeting at White and Blue Hotel in Osogbo.

He urged members to circulate the information widely and encouraged them to remain committed to the group’s objectives.

The allegation comes amid increasing concerns over insecurity in parts of Kwara State, particularly in Kwara South, where residents have repeatedly reported attacks, kidnappings and killings allegedly carried out by suspected armed herdsmen and other criminal groups.
