President Bola Tinubu on Thursday received Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja for a closed-door meeting.
Adeleke arrived at the Aso Rock Villa at about 5:25 p.m., accompanied by the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu. The Osun governor was dressed in a navy-blue traditional outfit and was seen carrying a walking stick as he stepped out of a black Toyota Land Cruiser.
The meeting marked Adeleke’s first official engagement with President Tinubu since his victory in the recent Osun State governorship election.
Tinubu had earlier congratulated Adeleke on his re-election and described the outcome of the election as an indication that democracy would continue to thrive in Nigeria. He also urged the governor to promote unity among residents of Osun State, regardless of their political affiliations.
Several members of Adeleke’s political and administrative team also arrived at the Presidential Villa shortly after the governor. They included the Director-General of the Adeleke Campaign Council, Senator Lere Oyewumi; campaign council member, Sunday Bisi; Osun State Chief of Staff, Akinleye Kazeem; and Bamidele Salam, a member of the House of Representatives representing Ede North, Ede South, Egbedore and Ejigbo Federal Constituency.
The purpose and details of the private discussion between the President and the Osun governor were not immediately disclosed as of the time of the report.
