President Bola Tinubu has encouraged Nigerian youths to openly express their views on national issues and suggest alternative solutions whenever they disagree with government policies.
Drivetvnews gathered that Tinubu made the call on Friday while announcing the commencement of the National Youth Confab 2026, stressing that young Nigerians should have a meaningful role in decisions affecting their lives and the country’s future.
In a statement shared on his X account, the President said the conference was created to ensure that youths have more than a symbolic role in conversations about national development.
He urged participants to be honest about their concerns and to accompany their criticisms with practical alternatives.
Tinubu said the government’s responsibility was to listen to young Nigerians and consider implementing recommendations that could contribute positively to national development.
The President also announced that virtual consultations would continue for two weeks, allowing young Nigerians to participate regardless of their location, including those living outside Nigeria.
He expressed optimism that the consultations would generate recommendations capable of contributing to government policymaking and the country’s development.
