A woman identified as Oluwasola Victoria Adebayo has reportedly died while waiting for her child who was sitting for the ongoing Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) in Ondo State.
Drivetvnews gathered that the incident occurred on Monday at Ilara-Mokin Junction in Ifedore Local Government Area, where she had accompanied her child to the examination centre.
According to eyewitness accounts, the woman suddenly became unwell shortly after arriving at the location. She reportedly complained of weakness before collapsing, prompting bystanders to rush to her aid.
Despite efforts to revive her, she was confirmed dead at the scene.
At the time of the incident, her child was inside the examination hall and was unaware of what had happened.
A resident, who knew the deceased as “Mummy Ayo,” said she had earlier mentioned her plan to escort her daughter to the exam venue that morning.
The shocking development drew a crowd, with many expressing grief over the sudden loss.
Confirming the incident, the spokesperson of the Ondo State Police Command, DSP Abayomi Jimoh, said the authorities had contacted the deceased’s family. He added that her body was released to a relative, Mr Apapa Olamilekan, who identified himself as her son and a member of the Nigeria Legion in Akure.
