Nigerian social media activist, VeryDarkMan, has criticised President Bola Tinubu over the presence of several All Progressives Congress, APC, governors and senators in Osun State during the ongoing governorship election.
Drivetvnews gathered that VeryDarkMan accused the President of deploying APC political heavyweights to the state in an attempt to influence the electoral process and urged Tinubu to allow Osun residents to freely determine their next governor.
Reacting to the presence of the APC leaders, the activist argued that their involvement could undermine the credibility of the election.
“Sending your APC governors and senators to Osun shows the election won’t be credible and fair,” he said.
VeryDarkMan further alleged that the political structure being deployed by the APC could be used to intimidate opponents and manipulate the outcome of the poll.
He also questioned why governors from different states would be present to observe the election if not to exert political influence.
However, he stressed that his criticism should not be interpreted as an endorsement of Governor Ademola Adeleke, noting that he believes voters should be allowed to make their choice freely.
He called on President Tinubu to ensure that the people of Osun State are allowed to decide their preferred candidate through a free and fair electoral process.
The Osun governorship election has attracted significant attention, with Adeleke of the Accord Party facing APC candidate Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji and candidates of other political parties.
